The story of redwhiteblue begins with the robust, sun-resistant, water-proof, foldable fabric that features basic patterning and color, yet boasts multi-functional and flexible uses. Simple and practical, construction sites use the material extensively; street market vendors use it for sheltering their stalls or as canvas sheets for fresh produce; common folk use it in the form of portable carrying bags. Owing to its practicality and transportability, redwhiteblue has traveled far and wide. In celebration of this simple material, this book is printed in two volumes packaged in a chic redwhiteblue bag. Volume One traces the origin, history, manufacturing, production and common applications of the redwhiteblue material; Volume Two features over twenty five artists, designers, architects and design educators and their visual re-interpretation of the redwhiteblue material. redwhiteblue here/there/everywhere was conceptualized by Stanley Wong, alias anothermountain.
