Nature-inspired Ceramics

Disciple of Asuka Tsuboi, Japanese ceramic master, Iwamoto receives over 10 years experience of expressing herself in media of ceramic art. Graduated in the Royal College of Art in 2006 and winner of The Clerkenwell Award and Future Foundation Inclusive Design Research Award in 2006, Iwamoto makes exquisite cups and other objects for bizarre tea ceremonies. They suggest the everyday, the ordinary but are in fact extra- ordinary. Her work plays on the balance of intricacy and detail, mathematical pattern and organic chaos, of beauty and repulsion.

Iwamoto has been creating exclusive, one of a kind ceramics in limited edition for sale in EXHIBIT since 2006, and presented the highly acclaimed 10th Empty Space Projects, PROLIFERATION, in 2007 with another Japanese ceramic artist, Michi Suzuki.
