An interesting Feburary beginning with an email from China Now to confirm that EXHIBIT will be one of the programme partners. With such an honour to be part of the nationwide event, i make a few google search (rarely in the morning) to make my head clear what is China NOW (the real situation).
Quite a few striking headlines and interesting findings were found in different social and political aspects of the country. It seems to me that China now is much more intriguing to understand its mutual influence in an international term with other countries (not necessary U.S or Africa) instead of patching its ever rocket rising economic data or achivement.
Yanki is also curating an exhibition for China Now at Royal College of Art, which will showcase a series of works in exploring What is China Now by artists and designers (also include RCA Alumni) in other phenomena such as policy, culture, economy bubble and environment. Not more confined by another 3 ”coastal” cities with 3 main stream design aspects - But is Beijing coastal cities anyway? The distance from the coast to the capital is really in question, but who cares - they are hot, they are topical.
We’ll keep you update for the forthcoming China Now exhibition at EXHIBIT and RCA.
