While other venues and exhibitions for CHINA NOW programme are optimistically portraying China’s current extravagant and bright side of it’s evolving global establishment as a fixed entity, Constant Stream China 08 curated by Dr. Yanki Lee and EXHIBIT, with support by Pamela Prado and Clara Gaggero, will bring visitors an opportunity to engage with China rather as a concept through a thought-provoking documentary journey (take it or not, possibly with a little disquieting quality) and to mediated discussions regarding its fast changing states and vast impact on global affairs in hope to provoke debate, raise social awareness, formulate encounters and improve understanding.
Artists representing all facets of the creative spectrum, from photography and moving image work, design and architecture to fine art and applied arts, will partake in this exhibition and describe their uncanny process and experience of exploring the impulsive phenomena throughout decades of constant evolving social, environmental, economical and political development.
Some said China is huge and topical. We think it is as well inherently controversial. Unfortunately it is a short period exhibition so don’t miss out!
