Heartlands is a community-led project by the Kerrier District Council in Pool, Cornwall, which is created with the aim of ensuring social sustainability. It consists of a recreation complex with a 7.5 hectare area of green space between Dundance Lane and Station Road around the historical Robinson shaft complex.

Yanki Lee, Founding director of EXHIBIT and research fellow at the Royal College of Art Helen Hamlyn Centre, is commissioned with STBY to generate ideas to facilitate the design process of the Heartlands and aims to identify key issues to explore, refine, and recommend support required to effectively carry out the designs with social inclusion. One of our key contributions is to introduce creative thinking to consultation process and develop engaging methods to encourage active participation between different stakeholders.
