Golden Lane Summer Market Day 2009

6th June 2009. The Golden Lane Summer Market Day proved to be another successful community event here at the Golden Lane Estate.

Whilst the weather was less than perfect, we gave thanks for the lack of rain and the grey clouds certainly didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the residents. Instead the covered market area was a buzz with cheerful stall holders and bargain hunters.

Many thanks go out to the estate’s residents who helped organising the event. Especially Wendy Giaccaglia, housing manager, without whose efforts the event could not have taken place. Also a noteworthy presence were the liaison with City of London Police, the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership and the Drugs Action Team.

Opening artist, Kathryn Faulkner, spent the afternoon documenting the event and will show the resulting images at the gallery during July, commemorating the unique spirit of the estate.
