Call for Participation for Faulkner’s book project

September 29th, 2009

For those of you who recall our Golden Lane Market Day event earlier on this summer, artist Kathryn Faulkner has recently been working towards the next stage of her Living with Books project. My next update instalment will highlight what the artist has in store over the forthcoming months…

Why do we decide some of our books are no longer worth keeping, whilst we hold on to others for a lifetime? Do they play certain roles throughout our lives, perhaps either as an aide-memoire or talisman? Often, books can reveal many aspects of our own character; our interests, beliefs and social status. Kathryn wants to know your thoughts on the importance of books in our lives, the significant presence they often have, and their potential to reveal many aspects of our own personalities.

By working with as many Golden Lane residents as possible, Kathryn will endeavour to answer these intriguing questions, the results of which will be on show at EXHIBIT during February 2009.

If you are interested in collaborating with Kathryn for her project, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email.
