This summer, local residents and the public are welcome to linger and contemplate their future vision of the super estate.

After the success of the last exhibition, Housing & Architecture, EXHIBIT announces the artist-in-residency programme, Super Estate Projects – 10 Ideas, 20 Months, 50th Anniversary, and hosts an introductory exhibition to offer a unique glimpse of the selected works by the twelve participating artists alongside the summer market day.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Golden Lane Estate, EXHIBIT consolidates its on-going initiative and devises Super Estate Projects – a series of stimulating activities to engage local communities with artists, and get inspired by the design legacy of the estate.

In order to achieve a successful and dynamic programme, EXHIBIT held an open call for creative response to the super estate. The call attracted over 70 international proposals from countries including Austria, Cyprus, Chile and Asia. A selection committee was formed from local residents, artists, designers, journalist and academics.

Over three stages a final 10 winning ideas were picked; these will be developed into projects together with the residents over a 20-month programme. The series of work created by Super Estate Projects will be contributed for the estate’s cultural archive. Talks and other creative events will accompany the programme as the super estate heads towards its centenary.
